A place for everything, and everything in its place
Many compasses have a lanyard attached, so that you can hang the compass around your neck. Obviously you don't need to do this if you're using a Caddy - but what do you do with the lanyard?
The Caddy has a notch in its centre-section around which the compass lanyard can be wound to keep it neat, tidy and out of the way. Alternatively, you can just remove the lanyard from the compass - it's your choice.
The pictures below show how this works:
1) Lay the lanyard over the notch in the Caddy centre plane
2) Wrap the lanyard around the Caddy centre plane
3) Slide the Compass into the Caddy - all done.
